What is the Windmill Hill City Farm Market?
The Windmill Hill City Farm Market is a celebration of local talent, featuring designer makers and artisan creators from Bristol and beyond. Here, you’ll find a stunning variety of handcrafted goods, from unique gifts to vintage treasures, all made with care, skill, and creativity. It’s the perfect place to pick up something special while enjoying the relaxing atmosphere of the city farm.
Windmill Hill City Farm, nestled in the heart of Bedminster, is more than just a market venue. This family-friendly and dog-friendly space offers visitors a chance to explore farm animals, play areas, and gardens, creating a wonderful day out for all ages. With live music, food stalls, and children’s entertainment on offer, there’s something for everyone.
What We’re Serving – Sri Lankan Street Food from Ceylon and Beyond
We’ll be bringing the vibrant flavours of Sri Lanka to the market with our Sri Lankan street food menu, featuring Short Eats and hearty Street Food dishes. Expect bold spices, rich textures, and plenty of flavour-packed options for vegans, vegetarians, and meat lovers alike.
SHORT EATS:
- Sri Lankan Rolls (ve)
Crispy and satisfying, these rolls are filled with mixed vegetables, potato, onion, and spices, all wrapped in a pancake and coated in crunchy panko breadcrumbs. Served with our signature Devil’s sauce for an extra kick!
- Dal Vada (ve, gf)
Delicious lentil and chickpea fritters flavoured with curry leaves and green chilli. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and served with Devil’s sauce and a dollop of herby mayo.
- Masala Croquettes (v)
These egg, potato, and vegetable croquettes are fried to golden perfection, served with Devil’s sauce, herby mayo, and a refreshing cucumber salad.
STREET FOOD:
- Kothu Roti (v)
A true Sri Lankan street food favourite! Stir-fried shredded roti bread mixed with vegetables, egg, onion, garlic, and spices. Comforting, flavourful, and absolutely irresistible.
- Lankan Bowls (gf)
Our speciality Sri Lankan curry bowls come with basmati rice, batu moju (a tangy eggplant pickle), cucumber salad, and crispy papadums. Choose from the following delicious curries:
- Coconut Dal (ve) – A mild and creamy red lentil curry made with coconut milk.
- Ceylon Chicken – Organic chicken marinated and cooked in a medium-spice curry sauce.
- Sri Lankan Black Pork – Tender pork belly cooked in a rich, toasted spice sauce.
- Cashew Nut Curry (ve) – A velvety cashew nut curry with fresh curry leaves and coconut milk.
