Summer is always an incredibly busy season for Ceylon and Beyond. As we take part in some of the biggest festivals in the UK, our calendars are packed with exciting events and opportunities to share our love for authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. This year, one of our standout events was, without a doubt, the iconic Glastonbury Festival.

The Magic of Glastonbury

For those who haven’t yet experienced it, Glastonbury Festival is not just a music festival; it’s a cultural landmark. Held in the picturesque fields of Worthy Farm in Somerset, it’s a five-day celebration of music, arts, and community that attracts people from all corners of the globe. The festival’s spirit of unity, creativity, and environmental consciousness makes it a unique and magical event that we’re always thrilled to be a part of.

Our Glastonbury Experience

This year’s Glastonbury was no exception when it came to fun and connection. As always, we met amazing people and cherished the opportunity to connect with the vibrant festival community. The energy was electric, and the camaraderie among attendees, performers, and vendors created an atmosphere of shared joy and celebration.

A Taste of Sri Lanka

We were delighted to bring our signature Sri Lankan flavours to the festival once again. Our menu featured a variety of delicious options, each prepared with love and care. Here’s a glimpse of what we served:

  • Sri Lankan Curries: Rich, aromatic, and bursting with flavour, our curries were a crowd favourite.
  • Kothu Roti: This popular street food, made with chopped roti stir-fried with vegetables and spices, was a hit.
  • Hoppers: Our bowl-shaped pancakes, perfect for both sweet and savoury toppings, delighted many taste buds.
  • Chai: Our fragrant and comforting chai was the perfect pick-me-up for festival-goers.
  • Sri Lankan Rolls, Masala Croquettes, Dal Vada: These savoury snacks provided a tasty and convenient option for those on the move.

Our dishes are crafted using home-grown spices from Sri Lanka, traditionally harvested and sun-dried to preserve their natural essence. Combined with fresh, seasonal ingredients, our food offered a true taste of Sri Lanka, with plenty of choice for vegans and vegetarians.

We had an absolute blast at Glastonbury Festival 2024, and we’re already looking forward to next year! The connections we made, the smiles we saw, and the joy we shared fuel our passion for what we do.

Thank you to everyone who visited our stall and made this experience so memorable. We can’t wait to come back next year and create more amazing memories with you all. See you there!
